Sooooooo, I know I am waaaaay behind...I appreciate everyone bearing with me! I really do want to thank all of the great and wonderful people who read these crazy ramblings o' mine, and all of the people who have included me in their giveaways, awards, and other wonderful things that make this community so dear!
So while I figure out how to get my rascal-y camera to curb its delinquent ways, I wanted to jump ahead to what I was planning right before the camera decided to conk out on me!
You might remember awhile ago, I was washed away by enchanted mermaids and was joined by several AMAZING artists, crafters, and all around super-humans in the UNDER THE SEA SWAP!
Despite a few kinks in the road, I found that I loved the wonderful work and spirit of the participants so--I decided to do yet another swap, and it helps that Halloween is around the corner! But this isn't just a regular Halloween-y swap, folks!
SO...do you remember your earliest fear? The ones that plagued you in childhood? Not just the average cuts, scrapes, or the playground bully but, the darkest, creepiest crawliest nightmares you could think of?
In other words, THIS:

Yes! That universal childhood fear of fears! The boogie man in the closet and the goblins and ghoulies under the bed! Each of us has our own version of what the monster in the closet looks like, right? So, why not celebrate our own creepy crawly friends by creating them as dolls and swapping them?
THAT'S RIGHT! Just in time for All Hallows! The craziest swap yet!
Bring out your best Frankenstein, Hob-goblin, Flying Purple-People-Eater, Hop-devil, and more!!
If you are interested, please read BELOW! And let's get this spooky show on the road!
PLEASE READ ALL OF THIS, before you decide to begin!
1. THIS SWAP is open to ANYone, including artists, crafters, and Halloweenies. But please note that you DO have to make a DOLL. ACEO's will not be accepted in this swap.
*PLEASE ADD THE BADGE ABOVE to your blog--the more we get here, the merrier!!*
2. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED in participating in the swap, you may leave a comment here, but please EMAIL me at wildatheartfarm@aol.com as well to let me know of your interest. IF I AM NOT FAMILIAR WITH YOUR WORK, please attach a few pics in you email. It will make it easier for me to match you up with a partner.
3. Any and all styles are welcome! I accept anything including: prim, gothic, victorian, cute, faery, dark, whimsical, etc---HOWEVER, your doll SHOULD be a monster of SOME sort.
DOLL SIZE: anything from 4 x 4 inch to 7 x 7 inches
4. I hate having to say this, but it has to be said: PLEAAASE please put your best foot forward for this swap. I DO realize that everyone has different skill levels and interests and will take it into account, BUT IF YOU ARE TOO BUSY to participate and do the most heartfelt version of this swap, PLEASE DO NOT PARTICIPATE. I've already had to deal with heartbroken swap members in the past and I really love for all of my participants to feel like their partner put their best effort into the swap.
5. Conversely, please come to the swap in the spirit of DOING your best, and not EXPECTING too much of your swap members. Consider your work a gift to give instead of a free way to get art, and you will find magic and surprises everywhere--most of the swap members do really go out of their way in the swapping! We have had amazing doll artists and crafters in the past!
6. Noone is judgemental about the swap, the goal is to challenge yourself to come up with your "monster in the closet," to meet new people, and have FUN!!DEADLINE FOR SIGNING UP TO OUR MONSTERS IN THE CLOSET SWAP: Sept 20th
FINISHED DOLLS DEADLINE: NOV 4th (NOT TO COMPETE WITH THE CRAZY FUN-NESS of HALLOWEEN PROPER!)
SEND OUT YOUR DOLLS: Nov 10th
I will add your name to a list on the right of this blog, as I get them, and will do my very best to match you up! I will announce match ups on Sept 20th!
SO SIGN UP NOW!!! Mwahahahaaa!!!
Ok Zan, I'm in!!! Loved the Under the Sea Swap and looking forward to this one...now I must go back into my childhood days and try to think of the various characters that inhabited the space underneath my bed...poor things, they had to live among dust bunnies (oh, don't tell my mother), toys, old socks, shoes, lost homework and who knows what else...it was quite crowded under my bed!!! LOL

Zan, I missed the Under the Sea swap and was so disappointed. I definitely want to do this - however have to review some of the orders I have. Don't want to commit and then find out that time has gotten away from me.
ReplyDeleteI should know by the end of next week. A monster would be such fun to do!
Hugs!
Hey Zan,
ReplyDeleteIt's me again...you did not mention the doll size. Is it not bigger than 7 inches again for this one???
I think my chidhood nightmares are going to come back...great therapy though!
Zan,
ReplyDeleteI'm definitely in! I'm really excited about this one. It doesn't HAVE to be a scary monster, right? It could be a lonely, misunderstood monster. : )
Lots of love, lovely lady!
