TA-DA! Two Little Bunnies for Spring!

So!

You know I'm giving away THIS little bunny for free:

BUT did you know that the Bunny had relatives?

Yes....of course bunnies have many relatives!
I told you I was doing some special things for "March Madness" AND, even though it is the last day of March, I've kept my promise!

Meet this Dynamic Duo!! It's the Hop-A-Long Gang!

In time for Spring, these mini hares are dressed for a party! They're here to welcome Spring, Easter, and just regular good-time fun!

Buster Bunny is one tough little guy!

He is a pale orange hare with a dark orange circle over the left eye.
His macho side is NOT made smaller by him holding his bunny toy. If you look closely (click on pic) you can see his sparkly star hat! His right pocket is embellished by a cute blue button!

His darling friend (but NOT his girlfriend, he assures me) is Bettina Bunny.

Bettina is a pale yellow rabbit. She wears her springtime best, embellished by heart button flowers and a flower petal button hat. And holds her little sparkly chick friend close.

Apparently, very happy chicks become glittery with joy--you just have to look closely to notice it!

Here is a picture of their backsides. At first, both protested wildly, saying it was "uncouth" and "rather rude," but, once I managed to get them to turn 'round--it seems they wouldn't STOP showing me their rumps.

Rabbits! So easily lead into mischief!

~~~Both bunnies are in the standard Wild At Heart Style of cloth painted, sanded, then painted and detailed again. They are each accesorized with buttons and with frilly little collars. Both are made from an original pattern I designed myself, and each are One of A Kind, made of the finest quality materials--and imagination! Both will come signed by me.
Though these little guys are somewhat smaller than the dolls I usually make--they are both almost 7 in high (18cm)-- their high level of ornamentation and detailing is the same.
But where's the madness in this "March Madness," you ask? Well, these lovelies are ALREADY priced to go to a new home fast.
Both are $20 each (this does not include, shipping-feel free to contact me for shipping rates via 1st class postal).
BUT
, if you buy both of them, by April 2nd, I will sell both for $35! So you get a bonus savings! Just in time for Easter or Spring--take these two lovebirds (oh, sorry, Buster is reminding me he DOES NOT LOVE Bettina!) home!
Just email me at wildatheartfarm@aol.com between now and April 2nd if you'd like to take both home, or even one home. Feel free to ask more questions--and also, if you need more picture examples of Buster and Bettina, which I have.
On April 2nd I will officially list them in my Etsy store!
Thanks for stopping by to say hi! More interesting characters coming soon!
Doesn't this doll LOOK like she wants to go to a new home?
Ok, then, why is noone signing up for my giveaway? She doesn't bite, and she doesn't eat too much.
It's simple really, and she is FREE to a good home :)
Better news!
Alright, if you've read the last post, you knew that Friday the 13th did not bode well for me...
But I have happier news today. No, the sewing machine is still not behaving. In fact, I managed to nick my finger somehow on it while examining it further and, given my gothy sensibilities, we are now calling said sewing machine "Vlad the Impaler."
But, I still have happy news to share:
I am now the official Monday team blogger for the ADO blog (yay, thanks Nicole, KyEliza, Colleen and all my other wonderful team-mates!)
Annnnd, you might see an interview with Nicole (Mealy Monster) regarding Art Dolls Only in the next issue of BigTownFarmer!
Woot!
Also--if I didn't have enough on my plate, I will be joining ADO's Shakespeare challenge: I will most likely be doing a Romeo and Juliet piece and it will be VERY different from anything I've done so far....hmm, this should be VERY interesting!
FINALLY, don't forget:
In the morrow, between the 12 hours between 12 midday, and 12 midnight Comes Mid-March Madness! Join us now, and don't delay Lest you miss our opening giveaway! Mwahahaha!
See you tomorrow friends!
It would be Friday the 13th, huh??
Ok, folks--I generally don't consider myself TOO superstitious. Most of the stuff that folks consider unlucky, I actually LOVE: black cats, leaving the umbrella open inside...oh, you get the picture, right?
Same thing with Friday the 13th. Not that I love it, necessarily, but it's not a day if dread, if'n you get my drift.
So why oh why did my sewing machine break down right before my big March project--TODAY? Hmmm...which is especially weird, since my last sewing machine was recently annihilated in a car accident (hmm, there's a lot more unlucky here, than meets the eye!) so this sewing machine is not even a year old. Heh! Who'da thunk a Singer couldn't handle an extra large sewing project all at once.
So, right now, March Madness has to be changed around a little bit (since I won't have NEARLY all I planned ready) but I will still make March Madness worth your while---think GIVEAWAY action and more...and extending March Madness into all of March mwahahahaa!
Wow, this is really frustrating. It seems as if I cannot get onto a regular dollmaking schedule, try as I might. I think it was 2 or 3 months ago that I created the first batch of dolls--all but for the Valentine Swap. GrumbleGrumbleGrumble--the Success Fairies are not shining on me.
Pretty soon, I'll be reduced to doing what this little fellow is doing, which probably won't be all that bad:
Well, I won't look QUITE this CUTE doing my thing....
Maybe I'll get my boyfriend to look the evil sewing machine later today. He is generally handy, although I know repairing such "girlie" items is so foreign to most adult, red-blooded American men that it might render them almost impotent--so, we'll see! Ha!
So stay tuned, Friends! Ides of March Madness lives up to it's name--giveaway and fun on March 15th!
Dolls on the 16th and after!!
General Bafoonery all year round! Happy Friday!
Daily Doses of Inspiration
I'm not sure which blog--or blogs, even, that I first saw this, but I remember awhile ago that it seemed people were showing off their studio spaces, and other sources of inspiration. I had made a mental note to show off my DAILY sources of inspiration...which I will now show to you.
It's not just my studio that brings me great joy, but my house. Credit my sweet boyfriend for putting up with my *ahem* whimsical ways.
Here is one of the doorways to the main hall. Yes, that sign stays up all year, as do those tree branches.
My own personal Halloween Greeting Tree! Mwahahaha...ahem.....
Looks much better in the dark, I think.
Here is my kitchen.
I've decided the pot holders needed to be a bit more scary. You can also take a peek into my outdoor kitchen garden through the door.
And, yes, "Ye Olde Book Of Halloween" actually contains VERY INTERESTING information that I've gathered, on Halloween. Are you starting to see a theme here? Like many of you, I might be the next Queen O' Halloween!
A few decorative plates.
And one of several teapots I collect. I am a teapot collecting fool. Look closely, you will see the top is made to look like a tea party setting:
Plus, I love my vintage glass bear sugar shakers!
On the other side of the kitchen, a prim pumpkin and crow mark the kitchen door, while just outside that ominous dark being happens to be an owl latern, which actively is used when we feel like trying to save on the electric bill!
(dern economy! If I must live like Tasha Tudor, I will!)
Oh yes, I mustn't forget dolls! (Click the pic to enlarge, if you like)
Here are some of my own (left to right): Halloween Kitty, she is my favorite. Bjorn Burneson, the teddy, named after the bear in "The Golden Compass"--I made him myself when I was 15 years old. Two other favorites are my "Rag Chillun" (by a wonderful KY Apalachian artist--which would be my "farmgirl connection" here), and the two Royal Kitties round out the end.
And here's the living room. What do you get when you combine Halloweeny goodness with middle Eastern and mystical fare?
Tada! Click to enlarge
I know there's much more around here to show you, but I will leave you with this small glimpse of my strange and creative little apartment. I'll be sure to post more as I can, but for now, it's off to create dolls!
Have a great day, Friends!
Comings and goings!
Alrighty then!
Well, I'm getting back into the swing of things, which means I'm well enough to realize that I am WAAAAAAAY behind. My Virgo-ish self HATES not being on top of things and organized, but I'm bound and determined to do it, even if in baby-stages.
SO.....
I'm adding this LONG OVERDUE posting, that I actually had ready a few weeks ago. I originally wanted to title it "Boxes within Boxes"....perhaps you'll see why though, indeed, there were also many comings and goings....
Just as I had sent Rose E. Hare to finally live with her One World One Heart winner Betzie:
I recieved THIS package:
Which Had THIS box in it. Isn't it lovely?
And when I opened it, I found these sweet eyes peeking at me:
Here she is, the lovely little being I won from Marie Patterson's Studio, in the One World One Heart event.
In honor of Marie, I think I will call her "Valentine Marie"
Then, if that weren't enough, the next day I received THIS BOX:
And in it was THIS bag:
And then:
Mwaahahaa! My violin is here. Gee, apparently making dolls, writing a farmy magazine, collaborating with people, working with animals and writing these blogs IS NOT ENOUGH! Sleep be damned, there is no rest for the wicked! I shall be learning the fiddle, folks!
More coming up as I try to catch up!
Ahhhh....Spring.....
Ummm. Hmmm. YES, this is a picture I shot THIS MORNING.
Meanwhile, above is the pic of the rest of the garden...I'm glad I didn't plant anything yet!
And you wonder why I am having such a hard time getting over my walking pneumonia.
*ahem* HAPPY SPRING EVERYONE!
