Hearts and One World One Heart

Hello Beauties!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Valentine's Day! This Valentine's Day myself and SS (Somebody Special) went to the museum of Natural History! I won't go into the long drawn out details--but simply highlight what we originally went for: to see the LIVE Butterfly Display!

Just enchanting!

There was a huge, and rather humid room (to keep these small dancing fairies alive)! It was full of all sorts of foliage and so many different butterflies. They were just lovely! It was hard to get good pictures, as they were flying around, but I hope you get the idea of what it felt like to be surrounded by these magical creatures.

The humidity in the room made for a rather "blurry" situation when shooting photos. So it was difficult to get good shots at times. Here, all of the "orange" on the trees are actually butterflies!

Some more orange butterflies on the pine trees. The "glowing" butterfly flying on the left of this picture is a Zebra Butterfly....

If you look closely, you can see this brown butterfly sitting on a food dish of oranges.....

A slightly blurry picture of a huge butterfly flying by! I need a faster camera! They were all extraordinary!

Thank you to my Special Someone for putting up with all my overtly imaginative whims and trying to humor my strange fantastical tastes! It was a lovely day!

Snow and Sweethearts...

Around here, it would seem like the week for Snow and Sweethearts.

I've decided to revamp my this little bloggety home of mine to reflect this strange little world, where Jack Frost has gotten a wee bit out of hand in sugaring the world with his icy work. Hopefully you aren't having to shovel your way out of blizzards. If you are sitting toasty at home, enjoy the blog "snow," which I am sure is by far less anxiety inducing!

And...do you have Valentines on the brain? I must admit, I can be a Valentine grinch...but sometimes if you are aware of the LOVE around you, it isn't so bad.

Favorite things I LOVE (the short list):

*Parents and family
*Old Fashioned kitchen things, that I still use
*Knowing ONE DAY I will be good on my Violin
*Being able to write in a creative way
*TIME to paint dolls, dance, and read
*Having many animal friends and being constantly fascinated by the natural world

Are you like me?

Don't get me wrong, this is probably the most creativity I've poured into my work in a long time..

Only problem is....when will this EVER get done?

Hello Dear Friends!

Hmmm, apparently the blog gremlins have somehow manage to eat my last post! One minute it's here, the next moment..like magic--*POOF* it's gone!

Ahhh, no matter, for I have quite the tale for you!

Once upon a time, a piece of cloth dared to dream of something more. It wished to be as fine as a queen. It wished and wished so much that a humble doll maker sought to make it so.

So she drew an outline....

And sewed...

And gave her shape....

And then painted, and sanded her....

And then painted....

and painted....

and PAINTED some more.....

and glittered....

and buttoned....

and added a sparkly or two....

AND

Like Magic, the The Queen of Hearts made her debut!

This QUEEN OF HEARTS is now in my Etsy Shoppe! AND...

She joins her friend the little HEART VAGABOND!
