And Now: An Interesting New Development!

Hello Friends!

Well, I had a post all ready to go with an actual DOLL or two to show you. I also wanted to talk about a NEW HALLOWEEN SWAP. But these past few days have been preoccupied with another interesting project altogether!

As you may or may not know (I mean, how many times can I harp on this?), my life has led through many unique and interesting pathways: I've been in the performing arts, a doll maker, an animal caretaker, an urban farmer....it's been an enchanted little life.

Well---now I have a chance to show them off In Oprah Winfrey's New Talk Show Host Challenge! Yep, I am vying to be a talk show host--but not just ANY talk show HOST! PLEASE CLICK ON THE LINK BELOW! AND IF YOU LIKE WHAT YOU SEE, YOU CAN ACTUALLY VOTE MORE THAN ONCE, EACH DAY:
HERE'S THE LINK

Time LESS...

WOW! A whole month away from blogging! No one is more shocked than I am!

This past month has been a blur of so many things being flung headlong at me, I couldn't really explain it. While I would say much of it was a prosperous thing, there were equal parts of moments that really had little to do with art, so it's been sort a frustrating amalgamation of being both grateful to be employed and be making a decent living in an economic downturn, while missing having an art life.

DID I MENTION I GET GRUMPY WHEN I DON'T HAVE A CREATIVE OUTLET?

So, the plan at the moment is to highly schedule in time for creativity while wrenching away from some of the crazier aspect of this circus ride life that I'm on!

So, sooner rather than later I shall be back reading all of your lovely blog musings and I'll hope you'll stick by this crazy little blog home of mine, where dolls and other magical things pop up from time to time. And you can see other ramblings, which I shall have up TOMORROW-rambling at my other blog HERE.
How did life get so Time Less? 24 hours in a day are not enough!

Speaking of Timeless--I thought I should make up for lost time by honoring my mom for Mother's Day (a lot happens in a month, eh?)

My mother is probably the most notable study of both steel and softness that you could ever meet.
She loves plants and is mush-hearted over animals. She can dole out tender advice, or more stringent thoughts, depending on the situation. She believes in dream chasing, along with more practical ways of living. She grew up during WWII and lived under communism in Hungary.

Baby Elizabeth

Her parents were practical farmers and practical jokers. Her mother was the baker to a German nobleman, her father a farmer and honeyman. Life was as simple and complicated as trying make a living, while fearing your own government.
My mother lost her own mother when she was 16. That it totally did not inundate her still amazes me. But that whole generation, unlike the current ones, I think, expected far less. One could be happy to be alive, happy about the little things.

Elizabeth at 12 years old.

She inherited her mother's baking magic (trust me, you cannot stay thin at our house!), she is a maven of knitting, embroidery, self-sufficiency. She is a beautiful person and my best friend (ok, maybe not during those testy teenage years, but isn't that the story of all of us?)

My father's favorite picture of my mother.

She has taken care of all of us. Luckily, she doesn't read blogger or she'd be mortified by my post and force me to take this down.

Mama, she is a TIMELESS treasure...

Up next (cross your fingers!), more dolls and a SWAP!
